I will be on my way home to Scotland shorty to visit my folks and see my wee sister before she leaves for New Zealand again.
When I am there I will be checking out the hides and installing some feeders. I plan on putting up a suet filled log for the woodpeckers. My Dad has been scattering grain for the pheasants keeping an eye out for comers and goers.
My main aim though is to install a dippers nest box. A pipe strapped to the under side of an overhanging tree or rock face. I will of course take pictures and let you know how it went.
Two other jobs with be to set up a drip system on the Shiitake logs, they really suffer from dehydration. They have been in various species of hard wood since last November. I suspect the Poplar logs will produce this season, it may come to early for the others, time will tell.
The last job will be to try and contact some land owners that have an interest in the Whiteadder river. We (Peter and Myself) would like to see if any organisations are interested in our summer project and Exposing The Wild. You never know we might get help with funding.
